harvest day with EMMA BRUSCHI
The greatest strength is born there, where decisions are made with heart.
Emma's creations captivate every person who discovers her. Her straw creations are inspired by flora and fauna, ancient techniques and adapted to modernised shapes. Though here’s the discovery that touched me the most.
The rye straw she uses is collected during the harvest festival organised once a year on her family's land. Imagine this: in a field so high up in the mountains that it touches the clouds, friends, colleagues and relatives gather. And as the reapers carefully stack the rye stalks in the rows, everyone lives their unique experience under the sun of June.
Some take out their notebooks to draw, others brought their cameras of all types to immortalise these moments. Those who's collecting rye try to make pretty bouquets, so that the day Emma use it—she can appreciate it even more.
Well, I'm not going to debrief all day in a journalist mode :) It was a beautiful experience, where we’ve tried rose petal candies and flower donuts, learned a few Emma Bruschi’s techniques and each created a straw totem to take back home.
The most important thing to remember here is that magic happens when we come together for a good cause. And even such a physical and exhausting activity as harvesting rye could become a fun and unforgettable experience when we do it together.
Magic happens when we come together for a good cause
There was no champagne or golden wrappers, strict plannings nor "what are we doing next?". It was simple, elegant, relaxed yet carefully put together. That day felt exactly like what Emma's creative world feels like. And it was beautiful. It's what I wish everyone to achieve. Understand what makes you happy. What make you - you. Cause after all there's nothing easier than being yourself. And nothing is as powerful either.
